On Independence Day, the place to be is Washington, D.C. And in Washington, D.C. the place to be was Social DC PR’s Star Spangled Independence Day Party at the Mad Rose Tavern in Arlington. This party had it all: killer drink specials, tasty burgers, patio hookahs, giveaways, beats by Biks and Karl N, and a great crowd!

Walking into the party, the first thing I saw was red, white, and blue. From flag-inspired tee shirts, sunglasses, and bandanas to red, white, and blue beads and outfits, everyone was decked-out to celebrate America’s 237th birthday in style.

Even the drink specials were on board. For only four dollars, I enjoyed the ‘Murica Shot, a —that’s right, you guessed it— red, white, and blue colored shot. Other drink specials included Red Apple, Blue Moon, Batch 19, and Budweiser for 3 dollars, rail drinks for 4 dollars, and bombs for 6 dollars. My friends and I kept cool enjoying these drink deals.

The Fourth of July was a hot day, but the Mad Rose Tavern had the best of both worlds for me. It has an indoor area to keep cool and an outdoor patio area to enjoy the sun and summer weather. I think most people would agree that the patio was the hands-down favorite. After all, what’s more American than day-drinking red, white, and blue shots, dressed like the American flag on patios? That’s right, nothing.

Social DC PR’s Star Spangled Independence Day Party made for an ideal Fourth of July. It was the perfect place to go for a day of socializing with friends and celebrating America before watching the fireworks on the National Mall.
