Last night I attended Pazzo Pomodoro’s “Pazzo for a Cure” Happy Hour from 5:30-8:00pm at 118 Branch St SE in Vienna to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). It was my first time at Pazzo Pomodoro and I was very impressed when I walked in the door. The restaurant was a lot bigger than it looked on the outside and there was a very nice bar area in the back of the restaurant where the fundraiser was held.
A $10 donation to LLS gave guests free pizza and other samples off of Pazzo Pomodoro’s menu, plus exclusive drink specials including beer specials, $4 mixed drinks, and $1 off glasses of wine. I had the pinot grigio and it was delicious. I sampled a variety of flatbread pizzas, including the Quattro Formaggi, Pizza Vegetariana, and Margherita. All of the pizzas were great, but my favorite was Quattro Formaggi, which I was told was also the most popular.
The event had a great turnout, with almost 30 people fitting in the back bar area. Raffle items included Washington Nationals tickets and a 50/50. The restaurant also gave out “Pazzo Shades” in a variety of colors and a few Pazzo Pomodoro polo shirts. I got a pair of white Pazzo Shades and a pink Pazzo Pomodoro polo, both very fun and stylish!
The fundraiser brought in over $300 for LLS! Pazzo Pomodoro will hold another fundraiser on August 13th from 5:30-8:00pm to benefit LLS as well. Special thank you to Ariana Jo for organizing and hosting the fundraiser and for supplying us with some great pictures from the event!
